Long Long week
Ok, Monday I had IMT. That basically took up the whole morning, but the afternoon was relatively peaceful. Oh, Patrick came to collect his pink I.C. on that day as well. So on the whole, Monday was peaceful, apart from the fact that we had to wake up early and we were all suffering from a lack of sleep due to the long Sunday night AAR session. Ha.
Tuesday was peaceful on the whole. Oh, the special part about Tuesday was that we heard about how they made changes to the Ops Bacinate manpower allocation, as well as how Kervin actually lost his cool and blasted the ISP people. But for CCIS side it was quite a good day.
Oh, went with JH, Kenny, BH, Mark and Jackson for nights out. Come to think of it, its like the first time that we actually went nights out with BH and gang. Well, Jackson drove so we went all the way to Holland Village to eat the X.O. fish bee hoon, following which we went over to TCC and chill out. Ha, all should I say sight-seeing. But it was indeed a good nights out where we had a good meal and a good time chatting. And I think the food was key to recharging us as opposed to all those unhealthy cookhouse food.
Wednesday there was SOC training in the morning. Ok la, I could clear all the obstacles in one try but I’m still lacking in stamina… I think I should go running more often on my own. Hmm, maybe later in the day? Next, I had to go for THT. It was such a simple think but I cannot understand why anyone will actually allocate 4 hours for it. Anyway, we finished everything in around 1 hour. Oh, and they reallocated the manpower for Ops Bacinate again. Ha, this is indeed the army in which nothing is confirmed until you are in it. Its like, I was supposed to go originally, and then they took my name out and now its back in. Ha, the capricious nature of the Army. Hmm, and Mark in his attempt to run away from SP to go NYP, got shot an arrow to draft an email to the relevant authorities.
By far, the most happening day of the week is Thursday as it was range day. My first combat shoot, and you can tell how amazed and shocked we were that they never put our names (me, WJ, K, Elv, JH, Doug) in the detail list. Well, so we allocated among ourselves who should take which lane, and surprisingly, our scores were amazingly high. We topped both the day and night shoot scores, but sad to say, we were still far from marksman (like 17 shots or 3 per pax?). But there was no complaints since the night shoot you can barely see some of the targets, such as the 100m Figure 12 ileum target. Anyway, people were amazed with our scores and somebody even commented that our platoon, with the least out field experience (as opposed to the nodes), actually scored the highest. Ha, guess it shows that its not how much time you spend with your weapons that determines your shooting ability.
Friday was peaceful after a happening morning during which I heard Ops Warrant blasting the whole battalion, as well as showing off his knowledge. Then we heard CSM briefed us on some of the key recall locations. But after which, it was a good day.
Now, today and tomorrow are crucial periods. Hopefully there will be no recall. I don’t want to do all those extra work! I mean, I’m a detachment IC so if there’s any recall, I really got a lot of work to do. So I’m praying hard that everything goes well and that there will be no recall today.
