All ready

Yea, I finally am going to start work next Monday. I’m really looking forward to it, since I have been lazing at home literally for the past 4-5 months? Of course, a main motivation will be the money involved, and I must say, it is hard to survive in Singapore when you have no income since transport costs are so high! LOL, I must add this, that time I was in Taipei I thought they had high transport costs compared to Singapore’s but that was because I was using a student concession rate then. Ever since I started paying adult fares, I decided Singapore’s transport costs are higher. Haha.

But for people who think that I’m going to be earning a huge amount just for a half day of work, please think I again. I saw my timetable and there are basically 2 days that stretch to 4 plus and 1 day, which stretches to 5! God, imagine working from 730 to 5? That’s longer than most in the private sector! Well, I will try to clarify with the administrative staff as to what my working hours ought to be, but I don’t think they will be that evil to make me a grossly underpaid part timer. Haha.

I guess I’m really looking forward to interacting with lots and lots of people. Apparently some classes, which I’m taking, are like 25-28 in numbers. Hmmm, that is indeed a big shift in experiences for me cause ever since secondary school days, my class size has seldom crossed into the 20s. So I guess that is one experience, which will be quite new and refreshing for me.

I’m glad I went back to my alma mater, as I will be familiar with the school staff, culture and environment. And I guess I won’t feel lonely since I can always turn to my former teachers. Well, seriously speaking, I’m thinking that maybe I can help my teachers prep for lessons if I really have the free time. But I don’t anticipate that yet since I guess I will be marking tons of essays…

Oh well, hopefully I will like my workplace as well as the people whom I will meet. Aha, lets hope it will be a good start to my career in education.
