Food Glorious Food
I think I will sorely missed Singapore’s food when I’m in the UK. Our lovely seafood, all the weird and exotic dishes, our eclectic mix of cooking styles… Gosh, just thinking about them whets my appetite!
Ok, I ate a durian on Sunday, and I must admit that durians are definitely heavenly! Its rich and creamy texture is something which I will think about. Hmmm, not to mention all the wonderful tropical fruits that we have – jackfruit, rambutan, mangosteen, and mango; hmm hopefully I can find them in the UK.Then, I went to Atlantis restaurant in Yio Chu Kang to help ABH, Jackson and Patrick celebrate their birthdays. Ok, there were just 8 of us but we ordered a lot of food. There were fish (soup, fried with onions, sweet and sour deep fried style), deep-fried brinjal, cereal prawn, sambal shell fish, Thai-styled chicken, beancurd and vegetables. Ok, like the name of the restaurant suggested, the seafood there is great! It is really nice and fresh. Hmm, think I will miss that a lot, especially Singapore’s chilli crab (and the Ang Mo Kio crab bee hoon!).
Then Monday had turtle for lunch. Hehe, ok I like to eat turtle soups, and although turtle meat is a little bit hard to chew, but I like the taste of the soup made from it. There’s just this lovely fragrance about it.
And to top off my indulgence, Monday’s dinner was pizza and BBQ chicken wings at Kandy’s place. Yup, it was a simple gathering but I thought it was pretty sinful too! Her parents bought “可爱鸡” and they were really nice!
Oh well, I think I will certainly miss Singapore’s food. Hmm, I think I shall try my best to savor them before flying over!
